About us

Students are at the heart of vocational education and training.

Our aim is to provide all Western Australians with accessible training that leads to jobs and careers aligned to their aspirations.

We work with WA TAFE colleges, private training organisations and other service providers to develop innovative job and training programs that support all Western Australians develop the skills and capabilities needed to gain employment. 

We also partner with secondary schools in WA to provide students with opportunities to explore career options and study a nationally recognised vocational education and training qualification while still at school. 

You could be working in one of the following teams:

Our Training Sector Finance Services team provide financial support to the department and TAFE colleges.  You assist with processing and posting accounts, record keeping, data collection, various administrative tasks and assisting with the teams project work where appropriate.

Our Programs team provides contract management of a variety of training programs, manages incentives, oversees the registration of Group Training Organisations and supports the Jobs and Skills Centre program. You assist with various administrative tasks, proving customer assistance, aid in processing claims and supporting other project work where appropriate.

Perfect for …

We’re looking for young people who are:

  • keen to undertake a traineeship and learn new skills
  • able to work well with others and enjoy working in a team
  • able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
  • comfortable using computer applications such as Microsoft Word.

Traineeship locations

Our Djookanup office is in Osborne Park, a short walk or bus ride from the Glendalough train station. Herdsman Lake and Glendalough Open Space are across the road if you fancy a walk on your lunch break, or perhaps enjoy the vibrant café located on the ground floor of the building.

Our Prospect Place office is conveniently located in West Perth, with bus services and the Leederville train station close by. There are a range of places to eat with many cafes within walking distance.
