The WA Government Infrastructure Planning work stream (WAGIP) is part of the Government’s infrastructure plan to stimulate the economy and create a more sustainable, skilled workforce over the next four years.
The WAGIP work stream encourages Government agencies to communicate, collaborate and find cross-sector opportunities; and to share resources, expertise and methodologies to improve productivity, project management practice and procurement planning.
This will help create an infrastructure program supporting training opportunities and inclusive employment (particularly for Aboriginal people, women, youth, and people with disability as well as apprentices and trainees); and develop improved Government project management that supports economic recovery.
Goals
The work stream aims to improve communication and collaboration across Government agencies, and find cross-sector opportunities to promote sharing of resources, expertise and methodologies.
In particular, the work stream aims to improve Government agencies’ policy, practice and procurement planning to support governance and meet legislative requirements. It will promote sharing lessons learned and recommendations from reviews, and ways of simplifying processes and aims to develop consistent and streamlined project management disciplines, including developing business cases and project proposals, and maximising procurement opportunities.
