You must have a current national police certificate to apply. The quickest way for individuals to get the record is by going to a local police station. Representatives for you cannot apply this way.
In addition to the national police certificate, you need:
- your Western Australia (WA) driver’s licence number
- a copy of your photo identification such as a driver’s licence, passport or photo card
- the reason for the application such as insurance, employment, a permit, licence or compensation
- a letter of consent on your company letterhead authorising you to obtain the information, if you are applying on behalf of your organisation.
Representatives that can apply on your behalf are solicitors, parents, guardians, administrators and executors of wills and powers of attorney.
Applications can also be made by completing a form and sending it by post or submitting your details online.
