The guidelines below are informal instructions to assist emergency management agencies in performing their roles. They provide specific methods for carrying out emergency management activities. 

Community Evacuation in Emergencies Guideline

This guideline aims to assist emergency management agencies in planning for and conducting community evacuation for all hazards.

The Guideline can be found on the Evacuation Planning Guideline and Templates webpage.

Resources include a pre-emergency evacuation plan template and an operational evacuation plan template.

Emergency Risk Management Guideline

The State Emergency Risk Management Guideline aims to supports implementation of the risk management process and the creation of ERM plans. 

The guideline and supporting resources can be found in the Risk Toolbox.  

Local Emergency Management Arrangements Guideline

The Local Emergency Management Arrangements (LEMA) Guideline was developed for local government to support the development of compliant, effective, and contemporary emergency management arrangements.

The WA Managing Exercises Guideline was developed to assist emergency management agencies, public authorities and local governments to plan and carry out emergency management exercises.

The Restricted Access Permit System Guideline aim to provide guidance to emergency management agencies, and those who have a role in restricting movement in an emergency.

The Traffic Management During Emergencies Guideline provides guidance to emergency management agencies, and those who have a role in providing traffic management during an emergency.
