Application process: What to expect

The Elev8 program draws applications from a talented pool of high performing level 8 (or equivalent) leaders in the public sector, which makes the selection process highly competitive. We encourage you to take the time to complete your application thoughtfully and thoroughly. The information you provide will determine if you are shortlisted for an interview.

Step 1: Written application

Only online applications accepted

Please note: Once you start your application you cannot stop until you have completed all the required fields. If you close the application form before completing all the required fields, none of the information will be saved and you will need to start again.

Step 2: Interviews

Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview.

The application form requires you to provide the following information.

Your details: (required fields)

Diversity information (optional fields)

  • Do you identify as: Male/female/another self-identity/prefer not to say

Eligibility confirmation (required fields)

  • Do you currently hold a substantive Level 8 or equivalent position?
  • Do you currently have staff reporting to you?
  • Do you have 5 years or more people leadership experience?

A detailed response to each of the following questions (required fields)

  • This program has been designed for high performing level 8 (or equivalent) leaders. Why would your line manager consider you a high performing leader as opposed to a leader who is meeting expectations?
  • Great leaders recognise that learning is a lifelong process, in particular, developing self-awareness about your strengths, limitations and blind spots. What are your priority development areas and why/how have you identified these?
  • Describe your approach to applying newly learned concepts, specifically how you determine what is significant and useable, and what is not.

At the end

  • When you are ready to submit your response, you have the option of receiving a copy of your responses via email. (This is only possible if all required fields are completed.)
