Household Electricity Credit Portal Guide

A guide for using the Online Services Portal to apply for the Household Electricity Credit.

Use the Online Services Portal to:

Using the portal will allow you to:

  • receive notifications about your application
  • complete and submit applications online
  • add information to an existing application and
  • send and receive communication with us.

How to access the Household Electricity Credit section of the portal

Once you have registered and logged in to the portal, click on the Electricity Credits box under Our Services, then click the Apply for a Household credit box. This will open another screen that allows you to select the type of action you want to make.  

How to apply

Click Apply for a Household credit to open the online application form.

You must complete and lodge your application by 31 March 2026.  Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Property detailsMake sure the residential address is the household where you incurred electricity costs on 30 September 2025.  If your address doesn’t appear, select the highlighted area to enter your address manually.
Electricity account detailsRespond to all questions.  Additional questions may appear based on the answers you provide.
Applicant details

Complete applicant details by selecting the + sign on the right.

The applicant’s name should be the owner-occupier or tenant who was incurring electricity costs as part of the household on 30 September 2025.  Only one owner-occupier or tenant should apply on behalf of their household.

Once you have provided the required information, click Save.

Upload supporting documents

See the documents you need to provide to support your application.

To upload documents to your application, click the paper icon to the left of your name.

A drop-down menu will appear. Select Document type then Choose File.  Select the file you want to attach and click Upload.

Payment details

Provide your BSB, Account Number, and Account Name. The account information should match the account information on the bank statement you provide.

If you want to have the credit paid into an account that is not in the name of all owners or tenants:

Lodge your application
  • Click Lodge to submit your application.
  • Click Save for later to save your application.  This does not lodge your application.

You can monitor the progress of your application using the Event Log or through Notifications.

If you save or discard your application

If you click Save for later, your application will not be lodged until you access it again and lodge it.

You can return to your incomplete application by selecting the briefcase icon next to your name at the top right of the page.  Once you have accessed your saved application, you can complete any additional details and upload supporting documents before lodging it.


If you click Discard, you will be prompted to confirm that you wish to delete your application from the Online Services Portal.

Once an application is deleted from the Online Services Portal it cannot be reinstated. If you are still eligible, you will need to complete a new application form.
