LGIRS – Licensing and registration

The department regulates licensing, registrations, permits, exemption or accreditation.
Last updated:

The department regulates a wide range of industrial activities, including Building & Energy, WorkSafe high risk work, dangerous goods and Consumer Protection. The department processes around 160,000 licence applications a year, a figure that continues to rise steadily.

Licensing imposes rules and requirements on organisations and occupations that are intended to reduce the risk of harm to people, the environment or the economy.

The types of licences the department regulates are listed on the right under their appropriate regulator. If you are looking to become licensed the requirements and applications can be found on the licensing pages.
