Cancel a deceased person’s WA driver’s licence

When a person dies, their driver’s licence should be returned a Driver and Vehicle Services Centre or regional agent by the next of kin or executor of the will.

You can return the deceased person's licence to any Driver and Vehicle Services Centre or regional agent. You will need to bring a certified copy of the death certificate.

You can also apply for a refund while there. Any money owed becomes part of the deceased person’s estate. The refund form can also be sent via post to:

You will need the deceased person’s date of death, driver’s licence number, date and place the licence was handed in and a certified copy of the death certificate.
