Cancel a WA firearms licence

The executor of an estate must hand any firearms into a local police station if they are not licensed by anyone else.

We are testing the Alpha stage of the 'End of life' guide. If you find this guide useful or would like to report an error, please leave us a comment below.

The executor or administrator should tell police their name and address, the full name and date of birth of the deceased licence holder and the firearm licence number if known.

They also need to advise whether the firearms should be destroyed, go to a firearms dealer or be held until the estate is finalised. If co-licensed, the firearms should be given to the other person for safekeeping pending the outcome of the estate.
