New WA Police Force website launches with community focus in mind

Media release
WA Police Force has now transitioned to the whole-of-government platform and you can find our website here at WA.gov.au/police.
Last updated:

WA Police Force has now joined a number of agencies that have transitioned their websites to the whole-of-government platform at WA.gov.au.

WA.gov.au is search based and you can simply find information by using the ‘search WA.gov.au’ bar in the top right-hand corner of the page.

You can enhance your search results by adding filters such as information type and service categories.

Our website navigation has also been simplified and you can browse through the six card categories from our homepage:

  1. Report a crime.
  2. Apply or submit a form.
  3. Make a payment.
  4. Learn about us.
  5. View WA Police Force information.
  6. Contact us.

As part of the transition, our content has been brought back to basics and updated to reflect a focus on our core services and ease of information.

The old website (police.wa.gov.au) is no longer available however redirects going back to the WA.gov.au/police are currently in place.

We remind you to still contact 000 in an emergency. This includes immediate threats to people or property or if a serious crime is in progress.

Even easier with online forms

We’ve also been busy developing a new online form system to make it easier for you to fill in and track your application or query.

Twenty-two online forms are now available to use which you can access at:

  1. Employment in WA Police
  2. Firearm licensing enquiry
  3. Freedom of Information
  4. General enquiry
  5. General traffic enquiry
  6. Information report for criminal injuries compensation
  7. Lodge a Summons, Subpoena or Notice to Produce
  8. Make a commendation

We plan on rolling out online forms for the rest of our PDF/DOCX forms in the future.

Phased approach

The website was launched in phases, with most of the pages going live on Wednesday 5 June 2024 followed by some custom functions such as the local police station search, crime statistics and media releases shortly afterwards.

The old website (police.wa.gov.au) was officially decommissioned on Tuesday 8 October 2024.
